This is a portrait taken before I had a good grasp of what my own style. The original shoot was about self-love and inner beauty something to help the model retake her confidence as a black woman. Now however, growing into my own style I find myself revisiting old photoshoots applying a sense of artistry to them.
A portrait, originally meant to embody once self-worth, now flipped both metaphorically and literally, to create deeper layers of vanity and hubris, starring in herself for eternity. Unlike Narcissus however, the subject is a Goddess that in her sorrow cries out tears of gold. Immortalized as the Hubris Goddess of the Godden Tears.
